Creative Director, Photographer, Educator & Diving Aficionado.
Like many others who live in Vancouver, I am very fortunate. There are very few places where you can choose to stroll along the sea wall, throw back a few frosty micro brews while taking in some world class dining, or choose to ski one of two local ski hills before taking an early evening dive in some of the most marine diverse waters in the world. Vancouver is a beautiful place of possibilities.
I came into this world as an explorer and this passion has greatly shaped my life. I have travelled, lived and explored many corners of our globe, both above and below the water. To date I have completed more than 4500 dives and I have visited more than 450 cities in 20+ countries. I have collected endless stories, drawn inspiration from the best the world has to offer, and tested my resourcefulness and instincts.
These experiences and stories have also led me through a successful design career. Many people ask me what my design philosophy is? It is simple, "Design is a consideration of things."
My broad work experience, deep understanding of creative processes, commitment to human centred design principles and passions as exploration and problem solver, enables me to be a great design leader. It allows me to consider design challenges in many dimensions of breadth and depth. For years I was dedicated to promoting and supporting the tourism industry. Helping dive shops and small resorts transition from start-up to small enterprises, driving marine conservation projects, while working as a underwater cinematographer, design consultant and educator.
Today I work in Vancouver as a Creative Director, Educator, Photographer and Underwater Imager. If you would like to see my full employment profile please check out my CV at Linkedin.
I have always used the amazing underwater landscape as inspiration for creating user experiences. One of my passions is to promote and share these experiences with fellow designers, clients, and underwater enthusiasts. I hope that by capturing and sharing some of these small beautiful moments, we will remember to protect our remaining precious resources and continue to work towards a sustainable environmentally friendly future.
I do sell a limited number of high quality prints and 50% of the proceeds are donated to organizations committed to preserving our marine environments. A few I support are listed below.
